Event Safety
and Courtesy 

Your safety is our top priority. Help us make Firecracker Fandango a fun, safe, and enjoyable celebration for everyone. Please be respectful of fellow attendees, follow instructions from event staff and public safety personnel, and take a few moments to review these important safety reminders before you arrive.

THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND

  • Follow directions from event staff, volunteers, and law enforcement personnel

  • Keep children within sight at all times.

  • Stay hydrated and take breaks from the heat when needed.

  • Wear comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear.

  • Be aware of your surroundings, especially in crowded areas.

  • Keep walkways, entrances, and emergency access routes clear.

  • Dispose of trash in designated receptacles to help keep the event clean.

  • Pets are discouraged due to loud fireworks. If you bring a pet, keep it leashed and under control at all times.

  • Personal fireworks, sparklers, explosives, and open flames are prohibited.

  • Drones are not permitted unless authorized by event organizers.

  • Smoking and vaping are only permitted in designated areas, if applicable.

  • If you see suspicious activity or need assistance, notify the nearest event staff member, police officer, or firefighter immediately.

  • In the event of an emergency, remain calm and follow instructions from public safety personnel.

  • Please respect the venue, vendors, performers, and other guests so everyone can enjoy the celebration.

Your safety is our top priority. Emergency personnel from the Odessa Police Department (OPD) and Odessa Fire Rescue (OFR) will be stationed throughout the event to provide assistance. The Emergency Services Area will be located near the intersection of Lee Avenue and 3rd Street. If you need medical attention, emergency assistance, or help reuniting with a lost child or family member, please visit this location or notify the nearest event staff member

  • Emergency Services is located near Lee Avenue and 3rd Street.

  • OPD and OFR personnel will be available throughout the event.

  • Visit this area for first aid, emergencies, or lost child/family reunification.

  • Event staff can direct you to the Emergency Services Area if needed.

  • In an emergency, call 911 or notify the nearest police officer, firefighter, or event staff member immediately.

Here are some safety tips.

Watch fireworks from a safe distance.

Keep pets indoors in a quiet, secure location during the show.

Never point or throw fireworks toward people, vehicles, or buildings.

Keep spectators at a safe distance from any fireworks being used.

Keep children under close supervision at all times.

Never relight a firework that fails to ignite.

Only use fireworks in open outdoor areas away from homes, trees, and dry grass.

Never use fireworks while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
